Hi Rmani, its Rone again. I am just interrupting you as I found both the charts same. Could you elaborate what is the difference between these two charts ? As I am not getting the point of having same chart posted two times in the thread.

One chart is price of Gold per gram ... The next is Price of Gold of 8 grams (1 Sovereign) ... Hope that clears your doubt.

The price of gold varies a lot from one jewellery shop to another. What are the tax components that is considered while calculating price of gold and is it same across the country?

Import tax is same across the country ... Rates should be same ideally in all jewellery shops ... But, different jewellers have different profit margins

What about VAT and other local taxes? Where can I get VAT and other local tax rates of all states? Is octri applicable on sale of gold

Not sure about the state specific taxes ... Never thought too much into that ... Even if there is state specific tax, it should not vary by much ... max 1% difference ... Otherwise, smuggling would happen across states ... Never read anything like that, so must not be much difference in my opinion
