When should someone invest in NSE or BSE
Apologies for my ignorance. I would like to know when should someone invest in NSE or BSE as the same scrip will be available in both the segments.

Well, you can buy in either of the exchanges (NSE or BSE) and sell in any of the exchange after taking delivery of the shares ...
Normally, volume is higher in NSE than BSE. BSE normally only has buyers and sellers taking delivery of shares. NSE also consists of traders who trade in Derivatives and margin intra-day trading.
For those taking delivery, choose whichever exchange offers a lower price. Those looking to sell, choose whichever exchange bids for a higher rate.

So that would mean BSE is not open for anything other than delivery?
