Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited manufactures chlor-alkalies and other chemicals. The Company's products include caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, potassium carbonate, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine gas and hydrogen gas. Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals also manufactures chloromethanes, caustic flakes, sodium cyanide and sodium ferrocyanide.

Gujarat Alkalies is a decent mid-cap bet that's on a bull run due to stake hike through open market. It trades at a P/E of less than 8 with dividend yields of well over 1% in the last 12 months. It runs at a debt of 311 Crores with 54 Crores cash in hand. Revenues have risen from 1133 Crores to 1710 Crores in the last 5 years. Profits have dipped from 224 Crores to 153 Crores on dipping margins. Its not a great growth bet. But, one can buy and exit as the rally fades.
