Sec 66(A) of IT Act modified after recent Facebook controversies
Well, one should be careful about what we say in public, especially Social Media. Stay out of trouble. Cause what we blabber in social media is anyway not going to change anything. Its more meaningful to do small meaning actions in the real world. Like, help people by providing them opportunity to succeed and move forward.
The law is also needed to prevent people doing obscene stuff via internet. What the Section 66 (A) of IT Act says:- Punishment for sending offensive messages via electronic mail message
- Any electronic mail message that is grossly offensive or is menacing
- Any false info causing annoyance, insult, danger
- Causing inconvenience
- Deceiving or misleading recipient
- If guilty, faces up to 3 years in jail and a penalty
