    Hi

I am NRI , but recently opened Demat account through ICICI. My application got accepted and also activated it today through icicidirect.com. But i have no idea about trading. I have started exploring recently about the stock trading and their terms. Can some one help with the initial guidance to start up.

Hi, Nice to see new beginners entering stock investing ... I started with ICICI in my college days way back in 2004 ...

I would strongly suggest you to read my Book ...

I would suggest you to look at stocks from an investment perspective, rather than from a trading perspective ...

Good luck with investing ... Next 2 years will be good for investing, if you pick the right companies.

    Cheers!
    Mani

  3. Hi Mani

Thx for your advise, I will be ordering the book today.

  4. Hi,
I am Uday, I have been through your book.

    1) I would like to invest in those penny stocks, which are having strong fundamentals, potential to become future multi-bagger stocks.
How to know/ choose such companies , as there many penny stock companies in market.

    2) It is said that "next 2 years are good for investing". Is this applicable to all stocks ( penny, small, mid & large cap ) or only to few kind of stocks.

    3) I heard that, if market falls like in 2008, 2011, good & potentials penny stocks value rises, mid & large cap stock value falls ( which is common) . Is that right.

  5. Hi,

Regarding "Deccan Chronicle Holdings" BSE: 532608 | NSE: DCHL
The stock value of the company in January 2008 is : Rs. 240, due to market fall in Jan 2008, it reached a minimum value of Rs.50 (in jan. 2009) and it raised again and reached Rs. 160 in Jan 2008 and stock value falling down from Jan 2008.
Now its stock value is Rs. 3.45
As it is expected that market goes to top in 2- 3 years.
In that case, can we expect that the stock value of Deccan chronicle holdings rises greatly in the coming 2- 3 years, as in Jan 2008 and in Jan 2010?

Promoter holding in Deccan Chronicle has been pledged and the promoters have had problems ... Checking for promoter stake pledged is one important thing, which i failed to mention in the book ...

Avoid companies whose promoter stake is pledged ...

Well, you need to kind of scan through all companies that there are ... 5000 or more ... which will happen over a period of say 3 years .... Then you will realize which ones are good ...

Btw, don't invest more than 20% in penny cap ... Stick to known mid-caps and target 20 to 30% returns every year ... This itself will become multi-bager over a period of time ...

During market crashes like 2008, penny cap gets screwed the most ...
