    I just love this term, "Multibagger". Possibly because I see this across platforms but am not sure what exactly this means. I see multibagger ads on Moneycontrol and especially Equitymaster.com

    Can someone please explain what does multibagger means?

    Well, its a term that people use for investments which can multi-fold by more than 2 times .... For example, Titan Industries by end of 2008 was 40 Rupees a share ... Its now 300 Rupees a share ... Share price has grown 7 fold ... People call it 7 fold Multi-Bagger ....

    Its easy to spot stocks or companies which have already given multi-bagger returns. Challenge lies in identifying companies which when invested today can give multi-bagger returns 5 years from now.

    Its also a mis-conception that only small companies with just strong news and rumors give multi-bagger returns ... There are Safe, Well-known companies which no one talks about, which are more successful multi-baggers ....

    News based or rumor based stocks mostly fizzle out in time ...
