How to Sign a Cancelled Cheque
A Cancelled Cheque is required in many cases. Once such case is, when you open a DEMAT / Trading account and when you want to link your bank account with it.
The below image shows how a Cancelled Cheque should look like. Draw two parallel lines and write "CANCELLED" between the lines as shown below. Do not sign or fill anything else in the cheque

I think that is still fine .... the parallel lines are to improve visibility to the words "CANCELLED" ....
