Market may open slightly higher.

Key benchmark indices edged higher on the special trading session held on Saturday, 28 April 2012. The BSE Sensex rose 53.09 points or 0.31% to settle at 17,187.34, its highest closing level since 24 April 2012.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 6.17 crore on special trading session on Saturday, 28 April 2012, as per provisional data from the stock exchanges. FIIs had sold shares worth Rs 2361.40 crore in five days from 23 to 27 April 2012.

India's largest car maker by sale Maruti Suzuki India said on Saturday that its net profit fell 3.03% to Rs 639.84 crore on 18.79% rise in total income to Rs 12023.86 crore in Q4 March 2012 over Q4 March 2011.

The stock market remains closed tomorrow, 1 May 2012 on account of Maharashtra Day.

Asian shares were mixed on Monday. Key benchmark indices in Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan fell by between 0.23% to 0.48%. Key benchmark indices in Hong Kong and South Korea rose by between 0.15% to 1.14%. Japanese and Chinese stock markets were closed for a holiday.
