    error: Failed dependencies: libstdc++.so.5 is needed by HPOvPerfMI

    I got the below error when i was trying to install HPOV agent on a 64 bit Linux server

    error: Failed dependencies:
    libstdc++.so.5 is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libstdc++.so.5(CXXABI_1.2) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libstdc++.so.5(GLIBCPP_3.2) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    while HP/OV and RHEL OS in question are 64-bit, HP/OV installer is still having some 32-bit components in itself. I personally observed the same problem with other HP products (e.g. HP SUM).

    Modern RHEL OS is bi-arch: 64-bit + 32-bit for compatibility reasons. Not all 32-bit libs are installed by default.

    Installing 32 bit library compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-61.i368 will solve the issue

    I too fixed it this morning







    While installing OA11.x on a RHEL. i got the below error..

    error: Failed dependencies:
    libc.so.6 is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1.2) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1.3) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libgcc_s.so.1 is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libm.so.6 is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libnsl.so.1 is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libpthread.so.0 is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libstdc++.so.5 is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libstdc++.so.5(CXXABI_1.2) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
    libstdc++.so.5(GLIBCPP_3.2) is needed by HPOvPerfMI-11.00.044-1.x86_64
